The ASUS Eee Pad Slider comes with a slide-out keyboard that’s firmly attached to the tablet PC. That’s the interesting product for users who want maximum mobility and a physical keyboard. The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer on the other hand comes with a dock that sports a keyboard. That’s useful for users who want to use a physical keyboard to type at one location and a lighter device without keyboard while on the road.
Hardware specs look more or less identical. Both devices run on Google’s Android Honeycomb operating system which has been just announced as well and specifically optimized for tablet PCs. The devices are powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chip, an IPS, 1280 x 800-resolution display, 1.2 Megapixel Front and 5 Megapixel Back camera, and come with either 512 or 1024 Megabytes of RAM. Storage options range from 16 to 32 Gigabyte eMMC for both and 64 Gigabytes exclusively for the Transformer Tablet PC. Both tablet PCs support Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and Wlan 802.11 b/g/n. The Eee Pad Slider offers USB 2.0 as well.
